The History of Chocolate

To some, chocolate is the epitome of luxury. To others, an addiction they're unable to break. But to all, chocolate is a beloved treat that is often made too quickly and with too much sugar. Surprisingly enough, a little history lesson reveals that chocolate has been around for quite some time! It's also been through some pretty major changes.

It's hard to believe that the little treat that we love to munch on today was once a very different thing. In fact, it's much more likely that you've never heard of the ancient Mesoamerican people who brought chocolate to the Americas to start with. But despite the fact that they probably used it as a medicinal aid, they were still responsible for creating one of the most popular sweet treats known to man.
